Stankevicius Group has spent the past year rebuilding itself around a different kind of media business. After selling its original news portfolio of 11 operating sites to a Middle East–based private equity firm in mid-2025, the company shifted from running its own outlets to building the infrastructure other advertisers and publishers use to buy and distribute media. The result is Arcana Mace, a self-serve marketplace that launched in late May 2026 and has expanded steadily since.
A marketplace model for media buying
Arcana Mace works less like a traditional ad agency and more like a freelance marketplace: advertisers post briefs, and registered media-buying agencies compete to place campaigns across a network of international outlets. The pitch is speed and transparency over the slower, less predictable process of negotiating placements through individual publishers or retainer-based agencies.
In the months after launch, Stankevicius built out two complementary products on top of that core marketplace. Media On Demand, introduced in late June 2026, lets businesses publish content directly to connected outlets on a pay-as-you-go basis, without contracts, retainers, or the administrative back-and-forth that typically comes with press release distribution. Users keep editorial control over their own content and decide exactly when it goes live.
